A Complete Guide to Getting the MOST Out of Your Juice Cleanse
We are all experiencing a time of fast-paced development and a general information overload. With so much knowledge at our fingertips, it’s easy to read a list of facts.
This is not one of those lists.
What good are the facts without the instructions to implement them?
Often times, we are overwhelmed with our daily schedule, cramming as many activities into our agenda as possible. Oh, if there were only more than 24hrs in a day! With so much time devoted to other areas of life, it has become more difficult to focus on our OWN health needs. Let’s take a step back & really evaluate where we stand with our health goals.
Food consumption is not just a basic human function, but has recently gained so much media coverage, with articles telling you which foods are good and bad to eat. Let’s keep it simple by stating the number one healthy lifestyle rule; Consuming whole foods offers more nutrition than processed foods. Meaning, “When you eat whole foods, you’re getting the food in its natural state,” says Tara Gidus, RD, a spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association. “You’re getting it intact, with all of the vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that are in the food.” Stick with organic, non-gmo produce.
Juicing has become an extremely hot topic. Now, It’s fairly safe to say, we have heard about the benefits of cleansing (Clearing the body of toxins, becoming more energized, healing our cells, & giving rest to our major organs.) However, have we really been offered complete guides to strategizing, preparing, and executing these cleanses? (Learn more with our guided cleanse & mind/body experts)
Our Mission: Feel Confident and Proactive while experiencing your juice cleanse.
Phase 1 of Detoxification: Understand and Consume Plant- Based Proteins“Toxins enter the liver as either water- or fat-soluble molecules. Water-soluble toxins are easily metabolized and excreted. In contrast, fat-soluble toxins can be stored in fat cells where they are protected from the body’s detoxification systems (1).” During this phase, specific enzymes are required to convert the toxin into a molecule that is usually less toxic & more water-soluble. Plant-based proteins and amino acids bind to the toxins. After this alkalizing process it is important to hydrate in order to flush out these molecules which are carried by our blood, through the kidneys, out of our bodies.
Phase 2 of Detoxification: Hydrate – Introduce Essential PhytonutrientsWe can describe this phase simply, after Phase 1, toxins that are not easily flushed (i.e. fat- soluble toxins) enter this stage for further breakdown by binding to a water soluble molecule. It is important for phytonutrients and antioxidants to enter the body to at this stage for additional nutritional support. They will quickly neutralize the free radical damage done to the body.
Phase 3 of Detoxification: Cleanse & Eliminate all ToxinsLastly, it is now time to help your body finally be rid of all these toxins. In this step, the products from the first two phases are released into the bloodstream for elimination.
